Dogs cannot eat all the same foods that are safe for humans (or even other animals) to consume. Some foods like onions and chocolate are outright poisonous to your dog, while others such as fish only become toxic in large amounts. Feeding your dog foods you’re not positive about can result in severe organ damage. It takes almost no time at all to irreversibly damage your dog’s kidneys by feeding it some surprisingly common treats. Make sure you know which foods are safe and which are potentially fatal before giving them to your pet. These are all foods commonly found in American homes that most people don’t associate as being dangerous to animals. Most people know better than to feed their dog a Hershey bar… most people don’t know a handful of grapes is dangerous and a handful of macadamia nuts is deadly. Always use caution when keeping these foods in the same home as animals (That bowl of fruit/nuts on the coffee table? *hint* *hint*).
